How long is the "forever" in the very Word of God?
Do you think that God once chose Israel for a time and a season? Do you think that He took a big magic marker on history and drew a line - Something kind of like this Israel, Big Line, Church age?
Getting to the point
I'm getting right to the point because these things matter to our current political, social and spiritual climate. As I mention in my book, "Am I Jewish," the Church has placed an unbiblical disdain on Israel. Many in the "church" have persecuted Israel. At the heart of this action is the belief that God quit on Israel because, well, according to that mindset, Israel quit on Him.
This is an over simplified travesty of belief. It misunderstands so much of the Bible that it is constantly in danger of beginning a romance with Anti-Christ heresy. Again, if your Christ is not the Messiah of Israel, if He came not to save the lost sheep of Israel, but to start a new club, he's not the real deal. That should concern any theologian or regular dude (or dudess) who teaches or believes this.
Start looking for forever
At the heart of almost all of today's evangelical campaigns is the promise of forever. Get saved and live forever. Well, if we believe when God says "have eternal life," why not believe Him all the other times? Why would He say "forever" so many times and not mean it? Why would we think that He really means it there?
I urge you to make note in your Scriptures of all the places where the Almighty Elohim says that something is established forever.
I Chronicles 177:22 has just one of those beautiful moments.
For your people Israel you made your own people forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God.
Rejoice that our King keeps His Word.
We can be assured of an eternal Kingdom which is ruled by our eternal King.
Have you ever gone through the Bible and made a note, or circled every time you read the promise of forever?
I leave you with more scripture from that chapter in I Chronicles.
"Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David, 'Thus says Yahweh of Armies, "I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth. I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the first, and from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that Yahweh will build you a house. It shall happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before you; but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne shall be established forever."'" I Chron. 17:7-14
